I had a booking the other night to do a nosing and tasting experience in a local whisky bar. It was quite a late event, starting eventually at 22:15. The group was a mixed bunch of 7 guys, who were all in the area while working for a circus.
We had a great night taking a journey through the different styles of malt whisky; Glenmorangie 10, Glenfarclas 10, Balvenie 12 Doublewood, Talisker Port Ruighe and Caol Ila 12. They split down the middle with regards bourbon v sherry casks and a few hated the peaty ones.
Eventually I said, “so what do you all do then”. The boss went round the table introducing his team and came to the quiet, reserved almost timid guy sitting next to me and said, “and he’s the clown”. Out of the seven of them I would never have picked him as the clown, so as the title says, never judge a book by its cover.
So, I leave you with the photo and the challenge to spot the clown!
