At 58% by volume (distilled in 1999 and 15 years old) it is a strong whisky but it is so smooth and gently that it really does not need any water. On the nose we have green apples, fruity, menthol, banana and vanilla; a wonderful combination.
But it is the taste that will blow you away, a combination from the distillery character and the influence of the 1st fill bourbon barrels.
It is fruity and sweet with peach, mango and banana, it is absolutely wonderful. I cannot recommend the taste highly enough, and the finish is a delight, being long and satisfying.
I’d never tasted any Tormore before and it was not on my radar, well it sure is now.
