I am a minister of religion, a pastor, for a small independent fellowship in the north east of Scotland, right on the border of the Highlands and Speyside. In other words I live in whisky country.
As an ex-employee of a large distilling company (worked there for 23 years) I have a passion for single malt Scotch whisky. I used to make it but now I drink it (just a little) and run a couple of small businesses related to the industry as well as running the ministry.
I run a small business providing independent and expert sessions in nosing and tasting of single malt Scotch whisky, and am also involved in training and consultancy for the malting and distilling industry. I write a monthly article for my local weekly newspaper about the distilleries and whisky of the region, and am now the Lecturer in Whisky for the University of the Highlands and Islands.
